"Was raised by his father and was taught the trade of his father, that of Blacksmith. Later he entered Jefferson Medical School and after graduation and obtaining his Doctors Degree, practised his profession in Greensburg, Penna. He was a prominent Physician in the county of Westmoreland, Pa. He served as a Surgeon throughout the Civil War, (1861-1965) with the 11th Pennsylvania Volunteers. He was a handsome man and a dashing bachelor. He never married."
